The ‘For The Makers’ campaign, spearheaded by the Made Smarter Adoption Programme, aims to empower SME manufacturers by integrating Industry 4.0 technologies and enhancing digital skills. This ambitious campaign seeks to boost productivity, drive sustainable growth, and create new job opportunities. Designed as an ongoing effort, it promises to continually promote the benefits of technology adoption across the region.
Visual Architects, renowned for crafting immersive environments for bars, nightclubs, festivals, hotels, and brand launches, has played a central role in this campaign. Collaborating with Made Smarter, Visual Architects developed a comprehensive digital roadmap, integrating new skills and investing in cutting-edge robotics. This synergy has not only transformed Visual Architects' design and manufacturing capabilities but also significantly enhanced their production capacity.
The collaboration with Made Smarter enabled Visual Architects to bring a unique blend of creativity and technology to the campaign. By leveraging advanced digital tools and robotics, we have set a benchmark for innovation in event and interior design. This has not only opened new export markets but is also projected to double their sales over the next three years, showcasing the transformative power of technology adoption.
The impact of the campaign extends beyond Visual Architects. In Tameside alone, six manufacturers are among the 49 in Greater Manchester to have secured over £1.1 million in matched funding for 63 projects, amounting to £3.8 million with private sector investment. This collective effort is expected to create 264 new jobs, further driving economic growth in the region.
The campaign targets 450 manufacturers across Greater Manchester, including over 30 from Tameside. These businesses face the daunting challenge of integrating new technologies into their existing processes, often hindered by limited resources and expertise. Through this campaign, Made Smarter and Visual Architects aim to bridge this gap, providing the tools and support necessary for successful technology adoption.
